Richard is an experienced Business Psychologist, accredited Coach and Organisation Development professional having worked for over 30 years in both consultancy and corporate environments.
Richard obtained his first degree in Psychology from York University and went on to earn an MSc in Occupational Psychology and Chartership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) in the early 90s. He is trained in a wide range of psychometric tools, 360 feedback, attitude surveys and organisation diagnostics.
Prior to joining Pearn Kandola, Richard worked as a consultant and internal specialist HR roles in a variety of industries including retail, finance and manufacturing. He has consulted to Prudential, BAT, Sears, RAC, United Biscuits, Forensic Science Service, Dstl.
As Head of Resourcing for a retail group he established new recruitment, assessment, development and succession planning processes from junior to senior levels of the organisation. He has also also held corporate Talent Management and Organisation Development roles, including several years working as an internal Organisation Effectiveness consultant for the John Lewis Partnership.
Richard combines his business psychology background with experience of organisational systems, structures and processes, group dynamics and high performing workplaces to help clients create healthy, sustainable and effective change.
Richard has a passion for learning and a driving interest in how psychology can be applied to unlock the potential of individuals, teams and organisations. He believes strongly in building inclusive and emotionally intelligent organisational cultures where all employees can ‘Bring themselves to work’.
