Policies, Competencies and Processes
Turn alienation into inclusion
We’re only human, and we sometimes exclude people without even knowing it. That’s why we review your organisation’s policies, competencies and processes. This helps ensure that your selection and assessment processes aren’t unintentionally introducing adverse impact or unconscious bias into your decision-making.
To help you be more inclusive, our reviews cover the following areas:
- How the language you use in competencies can unwittingly focus on looking for people from some backgrounds, but not others.
- How policies designed to support some groups inadvertently make things harder for others. This is especially true in the rollout of flexible working policies.
- How processes can lead to some groups being more likely to succeed than others. This can happen because of the way a process or exercise is designed, rather than the capability of the candidate.
