We are proud to share our latest research, Pearn Kandola’s Neurodiversity At Work (2024) report, which explores the experiences of neurodivergent employees in the UK, encompassing the recruitment process, masking, sharing with employers and reasonable adjustments.
The research, co-authored by Senior Research Psychologist, Marianna Zajac, and Senior Partner and Co-Founder, Professor Binna Kandola OBE, surveyed over 600 neurodivergent individuals currently employed in the UK and considers what organisations are currently doing well, and where they may be failing to support neurodivergent talent in the workplace.

Neurodiversity At Work (2024) Report Summary
This comprehensive study delves into experiences of neurodivergent employees in the UK, highlighting barriers that exist, day-to-day experiences, and where organisations need to do more to support neurodivergent employees as part of an inclusive workplace.
Through a mixture of open and closed questions, individuals were asked to draw on their current or past real-life experiences with questions covering:
- Applying for roles
- Choosing to share their neurodiversity
- Asking for reasonable adjustments
- Feeling included at work, and whether they felt the need to mask
The report offers an insight into what neurodivergent employees feel organisations are getting right in the workplace, and where it is clear there is more work to be done. Our business psychologists conclude the report with five key recommendations for employers based on its findings.
