Workers with hectic schedules have reason to celebrate, as trials of a four-day workweek in Iceland have been deemed an “overwhelming success,” leading to suggestions for a similar initiative in the UK.
The most extensive trial of a four-day workweek worldwide took place in Iceland from 2015 to 2019. More than 1% of Iceland’s workforce participated in the pilot program, which reduced the workweek to 35-36 hours without any decrease in overall compensation.
