Adapting Psychologically to Remote Work: A Five-Step Process

The first few weeks of working during the lockdown have been truly remarkable, albeit at times, quite bewildering. We’ve swiftly said goodbye to our well-established daily routines and embraced entirely new and, for many, rather uncomfortable approaches to work.

In this piece, we take a step back to contemplate our current experiences. We focus on the unique psychological challenges that come with remote work and explore strategies to effectively cope with them.

Colleagues are feeling a sense of grief for the loss of our familiar routines and traditional methods, while others describe themselves as feeling “frazzled.” This sentiment is not only due to the rapid pace of changes thrust upon us but also the constant need to adapt to new applications and video conferencing tools daily.
