Research Finds Two-Thirds of Black Employees Encountered Racism in the Past Year

In 2021, a recent study conducted by Pearn Kandola uncovered that nearly (61%) of Black employees experienced instances of racism.

The ‘Racism at Work in the UK’ report divulged that last year, 74% of employees recognized racism as an issue, marking a two-percentage-point increase since 2018. Based on a survey of 1,203 UK employees, the report further revealed (52%) had observed instances of racism at their workplaces.

However, (22%) chose to report such incidents to management or HR. Interestingly only 28% of respondents admitted to taking no action in response, and of those who refrained from reporting, 41% cited apprehension of potential repercussions as the reason
