Black History Month as a Catalyst for Real Change

This year’s Black History Month holds significant importance for many organizations. In 2020, we grappled with the dual challenges of pandemic lockdowns and the aftermath of George Floyd’s tragic murder. Now, as we come together to celebrate in person, it’s also an opportunity to chart a course for substantial change.

Amid the pervasive discussions about racism and inequality in the media, it becomes even more crucial to celebrate the lives, accomplishments, and cultural heritage of Black and other ethnic minority colleagues. However, Black History Month should transcend mere performance, as emphasized by Ekow Sanni-Thomas, the founder of Inside Voices. This platform enables employees to share their authentic experiences of workplace inclusion, moving beyond the claims made by employers and their brands.
