Employee wellbeing has gained prominence on the agendas of business leaders, however research indicates a racial disparity in employees’ workplace experiences.

A 2018 survey conducted by the UK business network Business in the Community revealed 25% of people of colour reported experiencing or witnessing bullying or harassment by their managers in the previous two years.

In the following year’s survey, 30% of employees of colour reported encountering bad behaviour due to their ethnicity in the past year. In August of the same year, 56% of Black employees, participating in the next survey, expressed being underpaid, in contrast to 41% of white employees.
