Firms Eager to Enhance Inclusivity, but Some Lean Too Heavily on Training

In the wake of increased attention on diversity and inclusion, driven by the global Black Lives Matter movement and the tragic incidents of police killings in the US, many companies have intensified their efforts to enhance diversity among their workforce.

Skills 4, a leading training provider, reported a significant increase of approximately 60% in inquiries over the past few weeks, reflecting a heightened interest in diversity and inclusion. Pearn Kandola, a specialist in diversity and inclusion, also noted a fresh wave of interest.

Jayne Little, CEO of Skills 4, highlighted the genuine nature of these inquiries, although she cautioned that some companies are in the early stages of their diversity journey and may mistakenly view diversity training as a quick fix for creating more inclusive workplaces.
