Need for Ethnic Diversity in FTSE 350: A Call to Action

The Parker Review‘s goals for ethnic diversity still face challenges as deadlines approach.

As they near the conclusion of their target timeline, the objectives set by the Parker Review Committee in 2017 to enhance ethnic diversity in UK boardrooms continue to be perceived as ‘unambitious.’ According to the latest update of The Parker Review, 37% of FTSE 100 companies and 69% of FTSE 250 companies have yet to appoint a single person of colour to their boards.

Three years ago, the Parker Review issued recommendations for ethnic diversity within UK boardrooms, with a call for each FTSE 100 board to include at least one director of colour by 2021, and the same target was set for FTSE 250 boards by 2024
