MPs Support Mandatory Ethnicity Pay Gap Reporting

MPs have urged the government to mandate ethnicity pay gap reporting for larger companies, while experts advise employers to start gathering data promptly.

In a parliamentary discussion on September 20, it was emphasized that without mandatory ethnicity pay gap reporting for larger organizations, businesses would face difficulties in achieving the necessary progress to eliminate pay disparities.

Caroline Nokes, a Labour MP and the Chair of the Women and Equalities Committee, noted that businesses are eager for ethnicity pay gap reporting but prefer it to be mandatory.
