Silent enablers: Allowing workplace racism to continue

Perceptions of workplace racism have shown little change since 2018, despite the significant Black Lives Matter protests triggered by police violence against Black individuals in the US in 2020.
According to a report released today by business psychology consultancy Pearn Kandola, nearly two-thirds (61%) of Black employees in the UK encountered racism in their workplaces in 2021. Notably, a quarter of those who observed such incidents chose not to report them due to concerns about potential repercussions. Furthermore, one-third of white respondents opted for the stance of ‘not my business,’ marking a 20% increase since the same questions were posed in 2018
