Confronting Racial Imposter Syndrome: Empowering Women of Colour at Work

As a British Pakistani Muslim woman navigating a predominantly white-dominated media industry, Unzela Khan has encountered numerous challenges. Much like many minority women, she has grappled with microaggressions and discrimination throughout her career.

Despite her self-assuredness, Unzela consistently felt inadequately skilled and undeserving in every job she’s held. Even though she had to surmount the hurdles of exams, interviews, assessments, and various assessments to secure these roles, she still couldn’t shake the feeling that she landed them “as a fluke.”
