Even though Christianity is the most widespread religion in the UK, a significant number of Christian employees find it challenging to openly express their religious identity within their workplace. Some encounter unfavourable stereotypes and teasing from co-workers.
A study conducted by the D&I consultancy Pearn Kandola, recent research indicates that 82% of Christian employees in the UK, who typically wear religious attire or symbols, choose not to do so at their workplace. Of those who do, 66% report feeling uncomfortable.
Furthermore, only 55% believe their organization supports them in taking time off for religious holidays, and 43% feel the same about their immediate supervisors.
