Authored by Professor Binna Kandola OBE, Pearn Kandola’s Age Discrimination at Work (2024) report is a comprehensive study in which over 1500 people aged 18 – 51+ were surveyed, to explore attitudes and experiences of age discrimination in UK workplaces.

The aims of the study were to:

  • Explore potential differences in attitudes and beliefs of the existence of age discrimination in the workplace between the different age groups
  • Investigate whether there are group differences in recognising age discrimination at work
  • Uncover the commonality of experiences of age discrimination between the groups, either directly as victims or indirectly as witnesses
  • Identify organisations’ actions against age discrimination and promote age inclusivity in the workplace.

The report closes with recommendations for employers on how to recognise and act on any signs of age discrimination.
